Let’s find a room in Milano

Finding a good room is as important as finding good friends because that decides whether we can have enlightened life or not. Since I did not speak Italian at all so I needed too courage to visit local house agencies. I was using some websites to find a room instead.
If you are a student of Politecnico di Milano, the best option is student residences run by Polimi because they are cheaper and closer to the university.
Unfortunately, everyone knows that fact so there are few chances. Even less for freshmen because students who are studying already can apply first. Polimi has contracts with agencies here so polimi students can use their services with discounted prices.
I show here.
We can communicate with them in English so no problems.
If the prices for sharing bedrooms are around 250 to 300 euro, they are cheap ones. If they are also close to your university, it is very lucky but we should be careful because there are always reasons why it is so cheap. Please check my sad and exciting experiences here.

If the prices of sharing bedrooms are more than 350 euros, that seems good but we do not know it like we cannot expect everything in our lives.
The prices of single rooms start around 450 euros. In this cases, kitchen and bath rooms are shared. If you want to use everything privately, you get to pay more and more.
As other costs, we pay electricity, water, gas and wifi usually. For sharing bed rooms, in summer it is around 20 euros and in winter it is around 50 to 80 euros.
For a single room, that costs are around 100 euros as a total. This depends on how many people you share and how old the house is so I cannot say exact numbers.
If we live in Milano for a curtain moment and get used to speak Italian, we can try local agencies.
For example, this site
seems to have cheaper rooms. Sometimes it is connected to local agencies or individuals.
Postoletto means a bed, Prezzo is price and affito is rent.
 The other site is
I did not find so many good ones but we can try. Seeing is believing.
If you are a Japanese, there is a site for sharing information.
We can check there too. This is not only for rooms but also for finding friends and asking questions so if you want a Japanese friend, it can be a choise.
To be honest, it is very hard to find a good place in a good price especially, in the city center. If we go to the suburb, there are more chances to find better and cheaper ones but if we consider the increase of commuting cost, that may not make so much differences.
